Noma Sibande

I was lucky enough to have a scholarship in high school and applied for every possible scholarship for university. 

I was overjoyed when I was offered a scholarship for my entire law degree, but my school funders offered to continue with their support for my university and I chose to stick with them. 

After I’d completed my first year, they changed strategy and told me they were only going to fund STEM qualifications.  I was devastated. I could not believe I was stranded, especially since I had turned down other funders just a year ago.  And it was really hard to deal with this as I’d had no warning and fully expected my studies to go ahead as planned.

Then one of my school teachers put me in contact with YES Trust. They were amazing and I am so grateful.  They were truly a lifeline.  I have completed my BA and am currently in my final year of my LLB.
